Celebrate birthdays with Book Club

Celebrate birthdays with Book Club

Throughout the school year, children in grades K-5 can celebrate their birthdays with the Birthday Book Club. The Birthday Book Club, co-sponsored by the Hudson Elementary School Libraries and Hudson PTO, is a fun way for parents and children to celebrate both birthdays and reading. As a participant, a child chooses a new book from his/her school library's Birthday Bookshelf, a bookplate with his/her name is placed on the inside cover, and he/she the first student to check out this new library book. During their library period, the child will also be presented with a certificate and a bookmark to keep as a remembrance of this celebration.

Through Oct. 31, any student whose birthday is between Aug. 1 and Oct. 31 is invited to enroll. Download an enrollment form from a school's page on www.HudsonPTO.org and return the completed form to a child's teacher with the $15 enrollment fee. Mark envelopes to the attention of the Birthday Book Club, and checks should be made payable to Hudson PTO.
